Real Bride Stories

Shea and Philip are an online dating success story! After matching on a dating app, they began to chat and found they had so much in common. Their conversation flowed, and Shea swears that Philip was the most handsome man she had ever seen. They soon planned a date, which lasted for 6 hours, and shared their first kiss that night in Shea’s driveway. They both knew that there was something different about that date—that maybe fate had intervened!

On a trip to Asheville, North Carolina, the couple went hiking. Once they reached the top of the trail Shea paused to admire the breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. When she turned around she found Philip down on one knee where he said to her “Before this adventure is over, do you want to go on this new journey with me?” With their hearts pounding, both started crying as Shea said yes! They spent the rest of the weekend soaking up their new engagement in a cozy cabin with amazing mountain views and no cellphone or internet service to disturb them.

The third time’s the charm has never rung truer than for Shea trying on wedding dresses. Our Rosa gown was the third dress she tried on, and once she saw herself in it she began to tear up. She felt like a bride for the first time and could picture herself walking down the aisle in it! It was bohemian and whimsical, and Shea struggled to describe the beauty of the gown’s gorgeous train. It was exactly the dress she imagined herself in!

Rosa is a boho beauty with an effortless A-line silhouette! It has elegant crystals and stunning floral-inspired embroidery and appliqués the cascade down the bodice to the flowing tulle skirt. The double-banded waist helps to show off your figure, and the buttons along the back add a touch of tradition to the fabulous free-spirited gown!

The couple got married at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens, a picturesque venue that looks straight out of a forest fairytale! It’s a wonderful locale full of inspiring gardens and gorgeous event spaces. Shea was worried about her outdoor wedding as the weather called for rain at the exact time of their ceremony. She calls it a miracle that not a single drop of rain fell that night, leaving them to happily celebrate the incredible day! A unique aspect of the event was that Shea and Philip had their wedding live painted. A gift from Shea’s family, the artist worked all night to capture their wedding, giving the couple a beautiful memory that they can cherish forever!

Outdoor Kentucky Wedding

While Shea describes the day as perfect, she did share with us some of her favorite moments. One that stands out was walking down the aisle. She and Philip did not have a first look, so they saw each other for the first time as Shae floated down the aisle. She describes it as the sweetest and most joyful moment! Her brother-in-law officiated the ceremony making it even more special. The couple also did a traditional foot-washing ceremony, which she tells us for them represented humility of heart and character—though she did accidentally throw her husband’s shoe about 6 feet away. Shea, Philip, and their friends and family danced the night away; they felt so supported that the couple never wanted the night to end!
