We’re sharing the best silhouettes, necklines, the cutest back details, our favorite plus size spring wedding dresses, and even looks for the mothers of the bride and groom with these unique outdoor and spring wedding dress ideas for 2023.
Unique Spring Wedding Dress Styles & Silhouettes
There are so many gorgeous styles and silhouettes that you can choose from for a spring wedding dress. We love the dreamy look of an airy A-line and, in our opinion, spring calls for some whimsical touches, but the possibilities are truly endless! Personal preference should always be taken into consideration, but if you’re looking for some guidance these are some of our favorite looks for spring wedding dresses 2023. If you’re having an outdoor spring wedding, a strikingly simplistic modern ball gown is a beautiful contradiction to the blooming flowers and lush green grasses. Jude, style 2524 is the epitome of modern minimalist princess, with the trendy touch of illusion cut-outs that makes us swoon. Billowing boho styles are a must for spring! Jeanette, style 2523 is a bohemian dream with botanical-inspired frosted embroidered lace on an effortless A-line silhouette. The puffed bishop sleeve scream spring with their elegant and ethereal feel. Floral motifs are an absolute must for a spring wedding, so a dress like Forsythia, style 2472 is an easy pick. The boned, sweetheart bodice blooms with decadent three-dimensional floral embroidered appliqués, accented by brilliant crystal beading. The sparkle tulle skirt floats off the body, embodying the dreamy essence of spring!
Picking the Right Wedding Dress Fabric for a Spring Wedding
With the more mild climate of spring, most any fabric will work for the season. If you’re getting married in early spring, and there’s still a bit of a chill in the air, you may want a heavier fabric like crepe, mikado, or brocade. For us, we love the look of billowing, airy fabric like tulle and organza with romantic touches of lace. Tulle is one of the most popular bridal fabrics with an open weave, for a sheer gauzy look. The lightweight fabric is great for layering, ruching, and ruffling making it versatile and easy to wear! It can also be used to create billowing bishop sleeves, delicate draped sleeves, and the trendy puff sleeve for a stunning spring wedding dress with sleeves. Lace is the quintessential bridal fabric and one that is a must-have for many brides. Most often used for overlays and appliqués, lace comes in various motifs—like flowers, leafy patterns, and botanical designs—that make it perfect for spring.
The Perfect Neckline Style for a Spring Wedding Dress
The neckline of your gown is a detail you should consider when wedding dress shopping. Are you looking for something with more coverage or do you want to show it all off with a sexier style? We always say you should wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable, but these are our favorite neckline styles for a spring wedding dress! Corset bodices have been a popular style for the past couple of years and we don’t see this trend leaving anytime soon. The boning offers both support and structure and helps to add a couture feel to the dress. Corsets come in various styles with different necklines, but we love the one on Josie, style 2508 with a v-neckline. The wonderfully whimsical gown has a flowing A-line silhouette with delicate three-dimensional floral appliqués and a corset bodice with bustier-style cups and a wide v-neckline. If you’re looking for something a bit more modest, then meet our Harmony dress, style 30137. The chic fit and flare hugs the body with botanical-inspired beaded embroidered lace over romantic Chantilly lace. The neckline has a geometric look to it, making it cool and conservative, and a great option for spring wedding dresses for older brides. If you’re looking to make a sultry statement, then we say go for a plunging neckline. Fortunata, style 2467 perfectly blends the sexy style with a romantic spring feel. The breathtaking fit and flare features gorgeous floral lace appliqués with crystallized beading for an unreal sparkle. The neckline has a daring illusion plunge and matching illusion sides, great for showing off some skin as the season warms up!
Cute Spring Wedding Dress Back Details
As you walk down the aisle, you should make a statement not only from the front but also from the back! From delicate illusion details, cool cut-outs, sultry open backs, and breathtaking trains, these cute spring wedding dress back details will make your gown hard to forget. The most classic wedding dress detail is the train. Trains have existed since medieval times, symbolizing a sign of wealth, as the extra fabric on the back of the gown cost a pretty penny. The longer the train, the more money you had. While this concept doesn’t necessarily hold up today, wedding dress trains have become a tradition that brides love. With different lengths, shapes, and styles, trains can help show your unique personality at your spring wedding. Jamie, style 2519 is our dream spring wedding dress train! The gorgeous crepe gown is sleek and sexy with a stunning open back and illusion details. Our favorite part is the sheer, petal-shaped train that feels both fresh and feminine, perfect for spring! For our curvy brides, Harlow, style 3374 is our pick for a plus size spring wedding dress. The simplistically stylish gown stuns in sleek satin with a sculptural sweetheart neckline on an ultra-flattering A-line silhouette. The seams at the waist help to cinch in your figure, but the best part is the chic detachable bow that adds a bit of feminine charm.
Which Sleeve Style is Best for a Spring Wedding Dress?
If you’re looking for a spring wedding dress with sleeves, you might be wondering which style is best. We always stress that your personal preference and what you feel comfortable in takes priority, but we think that with the whimsical and fresh nature of the season you should have a sleeve style to match! If you’re looking to make more of a statement, try a billowing bishop sleeve or a leg of mutton sleeve—where you have a large pouf starting at the shoulder and ending somewhere around the elbow and a tight fit through the wrist. Dresses like Janet, style 4103 or Jordanna, style 2509. Janet is a romantic A-line with a beautiful crystal beaded, floral embroidered bodice and detachable pouf sleeves, banded at the elbow, for some added playfulness. Jordana is glamorous with an angular, strapless neckline with a plunging illusion detail on a drop waist fit and flare. The leg of mutton sleeves adds to the drama with an oversized pouf and delicate lace matching the beaded lace on the gown. If you want a spring sleeve style that feels more delicate, try off-the-shoulder cap sleeves. Jane, style 4110 feels fresh and feminine—perfect for spring—with lovely frosted embroidered floral lace appliqués on a soft fit and flare with a classic off-the-shoulder neckline and romantic sheer cap sleeves. One last sleeve style we had to mention was bow sleeves! A flowing sleeve in airy fabrics like net and tulle, tie-bow sleeves perfectly embody the feminine and whimsical feeling of spring. Joelle, style 15012 is a modern fairytale dress featuring a billowing ball gown silhouette in radiant satin. The romantic sweetheart neckline is enhanced with draped tulle accents that lead to tie-bow sleeves that float around you for that extra touch of whimsy.
What Kind of Wedding Dress Should I Wear to a Spring Beach Wedding?
Most people associate beach weddings with summer, but depending on where you are in the world beach weddings can happen year-round. In coastal states like California, Florida, or even the Carolinas spring may be the ideal season to have a beach wedding. With more moderate temperatures, a spring beach wedding can be more comfortable for you and your guests without the sweltering heat of summer. If you decide to have a spring beach wedding you might be wondering, what do you wear to a spring wedding on the beach? You can wear something similar to your typical summer beach wedding dresses, but even with the sand and surf, we say to embrace the essence of spring with blooming floral motifs and breezy silhouettes and fabrics that are perfect for the environment. Jennifer, style 4102 is our dream spring beach wedding dress! The boho A-line floats off the body in airy tulle fabric featuring a beautiful bodice adorned in delicately beaded botanical embroidered lace with a sheer peek-a-boo inset. We love the scoop back with a low-back keyhole and lace-trimmed train for a touch of romance. Casual weddings are rising in popularity, so if you’re looking for casual beach wedding dresses then our pick is Jordan, style 15009. The relaxed A-line is effortless—in breezy chiffon and has a draped bodice, lined with beaded lace that flows into the sheer, open back, and a chic faux-wrap skirt for a perfect pop of leg. For our plus size brides, meet Hadley, style 3375 the perfect curvy spring beach wedding dress. This dreamy boho dress features gorgeous botanical, crystal beaded embroidered lace cascading from the sheer v-neck bodice down the soft tulle A-line. The double-banded waist cinches in your figure for an ultra-flattering look and we love the open keyhole back.
What is the Best Color to Wear for a Spring Wedding
Spring is associated with soft shades that remind us of the delicate and dreamy colors of nature coming alive again. Pretty pastels of newly blooming flowers—the light peaches, soft pinks, and baby blues you might think of for spring bridesmaid dresses work beautifully for colored wedding dresses too! Colored wedding dresses are a great way to show off your personality and reflect the look of your wedding. So if you’re all about embracing the beauty of spring consider trying colorful gowns! Blue hues are totally trending, so if you’re looking to make a splash in this color, then check out Joanie, style 4111. What Should the Mother of the Bride Wear to a Spring Wedding?
Mother of the bride dresses have long been thought of as unflattering and plain, but those days are gone! Traditional mother of the bride gowns have become elevated evening gowns and the expectations of matronly designs and boring beiges are out the door with it. Brides are all about encouraging their moms to wear a dress that makes them feel just as special as they do. So with endless choices of gorgeous gowns to choose from, you might be wondering what the mother of the bride should wear to a spring wedding! Well let us tell you, you’ve got plenty of options for mother of the bride dresses that are not frumpy. Some of the most popular colors for mother of the bride dresses are neutrals like taupes and beiges, as well as jewel tones like navy, plum, and emerald, but when it comes to a spring wedding we think your dress should like light and fresh. Pastels are a classic choice, but we think you should opt for soft shades like rosewood, minty greens, and delicate blues that are lovely while still feeling mature. Our Flutter Sleeve Floral Evening Gown, style 72710, is a perfect choice! The feminine evening gown has a classic v-neckline and sheer flutter sleeves designed with beautiful three-dimensional floral beading that’s fitting for spring, and in dusty rose, we can’t get enough. While it’s considered a faux pas for anyone except the bride to wear white, some brides want their mom to dress similarly to show how important she is. While we don’t recommend getting a white dress (unless you’re doing an all-white wedding party) colors like champagne and oyster give you that “bridal white” look without encroaching on bride status. Our Feather Patterned Brocade Evening Gown, style 72712 is a sophisticated gown in luxe brocade fabric designed with a chic feather pattern, perfect for spring. The straight off-the-shoulder neckline is a modern touch to the classic look of the gown. Our champagne shade will look beautiful next to the bride’s dress, but if that’s not your style our sea glass color is spring approved too!
What Should the Mother of the Groom Wear to a Spring Wedding?
There’s no need to complicate things when it comes to the mother of the groom’s outfit. Mother of the groom dresses largely follows the same “rules” as what the mother of the bride should wear. It’s always helpful to take cues from the bride about what she wants her wedding party to look like and consult with her mom, so you two understand each other’s style and don’t run the risk of wearing similar gowns. When it comes to a mother of the groom dress for a spring wedding, we still recommend blushing colors that look light and airy, beautiful draping fabrics, and, of course, floral details to embrace the season! This Three-Dimensional Floral Crepe Evening Gown, style 72714, fits the bill. The scuba crepe gown gives you an incredible shape with whimsical three-dimensional appliqués that define the waist and accent the delicate cap sleeves. The chic front drape adds texture and dimension, and in the soft blue of our slate color, this dress is spring approved. If you’re a mom who likes to show a little skin, then take a look at our Beaded Lace Off The Shoulder Evening Gown, style 72722. The refined dress is made from form-fitting stretch crepe and has a lovely off-the-shoulder neckline and front skirt slit for a pop of leg. We love the beautiful botanical-inspired beaded lace accenting the dress and the fresh green of our sea glass shade couldn’t be more springy.

If you’re planning a spring wedding you might be thinking about when to buy your wedding dress. Is there such a thing as buying it too early or too late? We offer quick ship gowns that can get to you in a flash, so you look and feel stunning at your spring wedding. If you’re looking for dresses designed specifically with spring in mind, then you’ll want to check out our spring collections. Each year we release a new spring collection of gowns for our brides.
