Real Bride Stories

In case you haven’t heard, the comeback of classic is back in a big way, and it’s here to stay! With a new decade upon us, we think 2020 brides should harken back to the ultimate glamour of the ‘20s people are still celebrating, the 1920s! Thinking back to the roaring ‘20s, opulence is everything and what more could a bride ask for on her big day? So come along for some past meets present trends we’re currently loving!

Gatsby Gorgeous

Reminiscent of the time, you want to set the scene with a jazzy black-tie color scheme. Shimmery gold tablecloths and black and white china are a classic palette.  For your centerpieces, scatter plenty of tall glass and crystal candle holders that look like they came straight out of a parlor in Paris. Include things like feathers and loose pearls strewn across the table and even get gold silverware!

The design of your invitations and seating placements could mimic the art deco style that was so popular during that time. Think clean lines and geometric patterns. Create a photo booth using a gorgeous black and gold art deco backdrop, for your guests to take pictures in front of, with fun props like feather boas, gloves, and quotes from the Great Gatsby. A fun twist on a guestbook would be to have a typewriter for guests to type their well-wishes onto!

Decadent Delights

For some fizzy fun, think prohibition themed drinks, minus the secrecy! A champagne tower that would impress F. Scott Fitzgerald himself, and St. Germain infused cocktails for all! Thinking of getting old fashioned? Give your guests the option to make their own old fashioned! Provide a list of different infused whiskeys, like elderberry or maple, and have garnish choices such as smoked rosemary or fig.

Fancy yourself a feast? Throw it all the way back during your cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres that would have been at all of Josephine Baker’s parties. Think classic dishes like oysters Rockefeller, deviled eggs, duchess potatoes, and croquettes. The roaring ‘20s were known for their desserts, so try a fun spin on a jello mold or a delicious upsidedown cake!

Flapper Fabulous

And if there’s one thing the 20’s definitely had down pat, it was glamorous fashion. A silver sparkly sheath gown, a feather accent pinned into your loose waves, or a vintage string of pearls. For starters, we love the Raja! Glittery beading, a slim silhouette, and a drop-dead gorgeous low back. This dress will have you looking like you step right off of a glamorous movie set!

Channeling the art deco style of the times is the Kendra. This deco beaded sheath with its open back and braided straps will have jazz bands playing! Pair the dress with a smokey eye and a vampy red lip and you’ll look like you walked right out of a jazz club in the ‘20s!  Another option is our Musidora gown! It will have you dazzling with its intricate beadwork, Chantilly lace, and shimmering cap sleeves. Match it with a beautiful headpiece and you’ll be flapper ready in this one!
