Melinda and Pat first met at a Halloween party and became fast friends! They remained friends for years, until 2016 when they took their friendship to the next level. Pat proposed on Valentine’s day, which on a day of romance may seem common, but was a total surprise to Melinda! The couple celebrated the special day the night before, as Melinda had to work the evening of Valentine’s Day. When Pat didn’t propose she figured it wasn’t happening. When she got home from work the next night, Pat had a huge bouquet of pink and red roses waiting for her. He also put a Hershey’s Kiss toy on her dog’s collar along with a ring. Melinda gave him a puzzled look until he got down on one knee and proposed! Of course, she said yes!

Melinda put a lot of research into finding her dream dress. She searched online for gowns she liked and found herself continuously being drawn back to Morilee. When she saw our Pierette gown, she knew it had everything she wanted in a dress; a sweetheart neckline, optional straps, a ball gown silhouette—but not too big—subtle sparkle, and beautiful appliqués! Melinda quickly found a retailer and went to try it on. She eagerly shared with us “IT WAS GORGEOUS!” She felt so beautiful and thought it looked fantastic on. To her, it was perfect!

Melinda floated down the aisle in our Pierette gown, a designer favorite! This elegant A-line features pearlized beading on three-dimensional floral lace appliqués, which cascade from the feminine sweetheart bodice down to the glitter net skirt. The sweet and sophisticated dress is perfect for the romantic bride! 

The couple’s initial wedding date had to be postponed due to Covid-19, but that didn’t stop them from having a fabulous wedding! They had a small wedding in their home on the original date and three months later, Melinda and Pat held their affair at the Ritz Charles in Carmel, Indiana. They had their ceremony in a darling chapel next to the ballrooms of their venue. Melinda tells us that she’d been obsessed with the venue from the first moment she saw it! It was perfect for the couple. The space was decorated with elegant pink accents and gorgeous spring-inspired florals for a fresh and vibrant look!

The whole day felt magical to Melinda! After postponing the celebration, she was thrilled to wed on such a beautiful day. She recalls how much fun she had taking pictures with her bridal party and the time alone she got with her soon-to-be husband. Melinda tells us how she couldn’t take her eyes off of Pat and felt like a princess on the most special day of her life!
