Inspiration

It was internet infatuation for Kim and Gareth! They met online, which they had both previously sworn they’d never do. Considering themselves photography buffs, Kim fell in love with his photos and messaged Gareth, “Your photos are amazing!” He sweetly replied “Your smile is amazing,” and from there they were inseparable! Gareth proposed after only 5 months of dating, on a photography trip to Glencoe, in their home country of Scotland. That evening they went for a romantic dinner where he popped the question with a stunning diamond solitaire and, of course, Kim said yes!

Kim tried on our Leandra gown in one of the first shops she went to and instantly fell in love! She never wears anything low-cut and remembers telling her mother how much she loved the dress, but couldn’t wear it because she would feel too shy. After that, she tried on other gowns but nothing felt right. Kim eventually went back to the first bridal salon, Bijoux Bridal, and her consultant convinced her to try on the Leandra again. As soon as she put the gown on, Kim says it was game over. She knew then that it was the one, and it had her mother in tears! Kim recalls how it felt so lightweight and had such a stunning sparkle. She felt like a princess and didn’t want to take it off; there was no insecurity when she was in the dress. Kim realized the gown was her, just with a twist!

Kim sparkled down the aisle in our gorgeous Leandra dress, a glitter tulle and net ball gown! The sheer plunging neckline and intricately beaded bodice make this gown a true showstopper! Gareth, along with his best men and Kim’s dad, wore traditional Scottish kilts.

The couple wed in Ayrshire at the traditional Scottish Brig O’ Doon House Hotel. Kim had dreamed of getting married there since she was a little girl, and with Gareth being from Ayrshire, she knew it was meant to be! The hotel had a fairytale staircase that acted as the grand entrance to a stunning ballroom, like something out of Beauty and the Beast, Kim tells us. Brig O’ Doon has classic tartan carpets, big fireplaces, hanging stags, and high ceilings with wooden beams that add to the rustic charm of the venue.

The whole day was so special to Kim and Gareth having everyone they loved in one place. Kim remembers not being nervous about marrying her husband, only joy, as she walked down the aisle with her father. She also thinks fondly about her bridal party, mother, and father seeing her in her wedding dress for the first time, saying they were totally blown away! Everyone danced the ceilidh, which is traditional Scottish group dancing. One of her favorite moments was walking down the aisle to the instrumental version of “Tale As Old As Time,” which still makes Gareth emotional when he hears it.
