Mikayla and Justin’s love story isn’t a whirlwind fairytale; it started sweet and slow. They connected online in 2019, and after weeks of engaging conversations, Justin convinced her to attend a Fourth of July fireman’s picnic, where the local fire department puts on a celebration to raise funds for the department. From that day forward, Mikayla shared with us that everything just fell into place!

Less than a year later, Mikayla and Justin took a big step by purchasing their first home together. Fast forward to November 2021, during Wisconsin’s opening deer hunting season, Justin chose a sentimental location on his grandfather’s land for a proposal surrounded by their loved ones. Their story is not the typical fairytale; instead, it’s a testament to the unique personalities and the interests that brought them together.

As a self-proclaimed “A-line girly,” Mikayla went wedding dress shopping with a specific vision in mind. But during her search for the perfect dress, she discovered Fortunata, style 2467, at Bliss Bridal in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Fortunata was displayed front and center in the window as a new arrival gown, and as the saying goes “mother knows best” because when Mikayla’s mom saw the gown, she knew Mikayla had to try it on. It was sexy, sparkly, fitted, and totally her style. Despite not being the A-line gown she had envisioned, Mikayla tried it on. As soon as she put the dress on, tears welled up in her eyes as she realized it was “the one!” When she stepped out to show her family, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Mikayla describes Fortunata as the dress of her dreams.

With a blend of Western charm and glamour, Mikayla discovered a setting where cowboy hats and a country vibe felt right at home! Nestled on 5 lovely acres, this restored hidden gem showcases rustic elegance, treating guests to breathtaking natural beauty and priceless views, perfect for their special day.

Their wedding was a truly unforgettable day for Justin and Mikayla. One of the moments that stood out was skipping the first look for the traditional route of seeing her for the first time at the ceremony. He was convinced she would be wearing a “poofy dress,” so when Mikayla walked down the aisle in the sexy Fortunata, Justin’s reaction was everything! Their eyes connected, creating a special moment for the couple—fully confirming that her dress was the perfect choice. At the end of the night, Mikayla, in tears, hoped her future daughter would cherish her dress as much as she did.
