Real Bride Stories

Leaves falling, a slight chill in the air, pumpkin spice everything. That can only mean one thing, Fall is here! It’s officially the first day of Fall and we couldn’t be more excited! Between the gorgeous foliage and that apple cider smell in the air, this might just be the season to beat. When it comes to planning an amazing autumnal wedding, from the food down to the dress, the possibilities get better and better. Let’s see what magic is in store!

Something Colorful

At the heart of fall, rich colors are everywhere you look. So what better way to build your wedding palette than by using nature’s colorful inspiration. Burnt orange and caramel brown leaves don’t just serve as a pretty backdrop, they’re also a great addition to place settings, floral arrangements, even cake accents. If you’re using long banquet-style tables for your reception, rather than the traditional cloth runner down the center, line it with an overture of deep orange and copper toned leaves. Adorn your tiered cake with piped flowers in mahogany and dark berry hues. Fill your bouquet with a variety of romantic blooms like burgundy dahlias, black calla lilies, and gold-colored roses.

A Taste of Autumn

Reminiscent of days spent picking apples in the orchard, fall flavors remind us how delicious nature can be. From appetizers to desserts, get creative with your choices! Incorporate the season’s finest fruits like plum, cranberry, pear, and apple into salads to start and mini pies to top the night off. Celebrate harvest time with roasted root vegetables, butternut squash soup, and hearty pot roast. Spaghetti squash or pumpkin ravioli are great vegetarian alternatives. Let’s not forget about the cocktails either! Put a seasonal twist on your signature drink by adding some mulled wine, or serving a hard hot apple cider. And finally, for a spin on a classic vanilla wedding cake, infuse your frosting with a sweet maple flavor.

Set the Scene

You can’t go wrong with any outdoor venue that puts fall, in all its glory, on display. When we think of places we’d love to spend a sunny autumn day or night, a couple of locales come to mind. Aside from the perks of all the free-flowing wine, a vineyard has so much to offer in terms of its décor potential. There are the grassy fields and the orchard rows lined with brass fencing and weaving grapevines, all making for pretty great photo-ops. Don’t even get us started with the scenic possibilities at a countryside farm! A rustic red barn, stacks of hay, an array of gourds, and willowing trees, will be hard to top!

Fashionably Fall

Whoever said you couldn’t wear white after Labor Day certainly didn’t have weddings in mind! The Romina’s A-line silhouette, paired with an illusion bateau neckline and crystal beaded sleeves, is there to give you a little extra coverage as the season is transitioning to crisper temperatures. We’re also imagining how incredible the Providence’s smooth satin-like Peau de Soie fabric would look on a Fall bride. The box pleated ball gown skirt gives the dress plenty of volume, while still feeling lightweight. And for your bridesmaids, shades of purple mulberry, deep red claret, and earthy latte will round-out that autumn color scheme you’re going for.
