Real Bride Stories

Ever wonder what was behind this long standing tradition?  Wedding day luck! Aside from a little fun superstition, this is the perfect way to incorporate meaningful memories into your big day. So before you say I Do, here are some creative ideas to use as your very own lucky charms.

Something Old

A truly timeless way to keep something, or someone, close to your heart.  If you want to honor a grandparent or relative, include one of their scarves or handkerchiefs in your ceremony canopy. Work with your florist to blend the special item into the décor. Or use an old stone from jewelry that’s been passed on to you, and work the stone into your wedding band. (Bonus! This can also double as your Something New!)

Something New

Oh let us count the ways!  If you’re going the traditional route of changing your name, this is the time to showcase your brand new monogram! Emblazon your letters on a robe or button down to get ready in the morning.  If you and your special someone are exchanging wedding gifts, your surprise suddenly doubles as a token of luck.

Something Borrowed

The perfect way to embrace sentimental items that someone else might not be ready to completely part with like your mom or sister’s veil or a beloved family heirloom. Or “borrow” your first dance song from your parents or grandparents. A little nostalgia goes a long way.

Something Blue

The blue hue has so many possibilities! Brighten up your all white attire with a sapphire, topaz, or aquamarine piece of jewelry. Something sparkly AND blue? Win win! Make your bridesmaids feel extra loved by including them in this customary practice. From navy to a soft pastel shade, your gals will shine in blue!  We can’t get enough of these true blue Morilee stunners!
