Kelly and David swiped right on destiny when they matched on a dating app back in 2016! After meeting, the two discovered they shared mutual friends but had never been introduced. Both David and Kelly are active duty naval officers, yet despite this connection never managed to meet or get set up before. They knew it was fate that they ended up together, and love to make up extravagant stories—that are entirely untrue—when people ask how they met!

Three years later, the couple was having a night our grabbing dinner and listening to live jazz music at one of their favorite date spots. In fact, it was where they took their first pictures as a couple! As they were strolling through a nearby park, David began to tell Kelly about how he ran into one of her colleagues earlier and was asked “when are you finally going to propose?” It was then that he turned to Kelly, and looked deeply into her eyes as he said “Do you know what I told him? I said, actually I’m planning on asking her tonight.” David then got down on one knee, pulled out a ring, and asked her to marry him in the spot that was special to them both. Of course, Kelly said yes!

As soon as Kelly put on our Saskia dress, she knew it was the one! She stared at herself in the mirror and immediately started crying. Something about the gown just felt right; like it was made for her! From the delicate detailing to the long beautiful train, and even how luxe the fabric felt, she was in love! Stepping out of the dressing room, Kelly turned to her sister and said “What’s happening,” as she sobbed. Her sister just looked at her and said “That’s the one!”

Kelly wed in the sleek and sophisticated Saskia dress! The slim crepe gown has sheer, net over romantic Chantilly lace side panels  The plunging sweetheart neckline and illusion back and delicate and sultry touches, and the long sheer train make the dress feel like modern romance!

The lead-up to the wedding was a whirlwind for the couple! They were separated for 10 months prior to the big day. As active duty naval officers, the two were stationed on opposite coasts. Though they had planned to visit each other, the world had other plans. At the beginning of their move, Covid-19 hit the United States and David and Kelly were unable to see each other. The pair would spend the next 280 apart and were only able to reconnect 11 days before the wedding. Seeing each other for the first time was an incredibly special moment for them both.

Amidst the lockdowns and social distancing, Kelly and David changed their plans and decided to elope! With just the two of them and the officiant, the couple was married at the Mountaintop Inn in Chattenden, Vermont.  The picturesque venue was the perfect setting for the intimate elopement. Surrounded by gorgeous meadows, lakes, and mountain views this private lodge ceremony felt warm and inviting, creating an absolutely memorable wedding for the couple!

Kelly tells us how the day felt like it moved in slow motion for her. Without having to worry about guests or timelines, it allowed her a David to really take in every romantic moment together and spend the day exactly as they wanted to. From their private first dance to a shotski of tequila, and even a horsedrawn sleigh ride at sunset, Kelly says the day couldn’t have been any more perfect!
