Classic Texas Wedding: Morilee Features Bride Jerika

High school friends to future sweethearts, Jerika reconnected with Taylor at a mutual friend’s house party on a chance trip to her hometown. While they had never considered dating in high school, Taylor had instantly caught her attention with how cute, chivalrous, and funny he was! Jerika tells us the way to her heart is through laughter. The two shared their first kiss that night and have been inseparable ever since!

Four years into dating, Jerika planned a trip for them to New York. Many of her friends asked her if it was “the trip” and she insisted no way, she had planned their trip how could he propose? The more Jerika thought on it the more she realized the possibility, but days went by in New York with no proposal. On one of their last days there, the couple visited the Top of the Rock and she said to herself this was it! “Rock” means ring, so Taylor will have to do it here! But no, it didn’t happen. On their way to lunch, the pair cut through Central Park to visit the Bethesda fountain—a place Jerika had been dying to go as her favorite TV couple, Chuck and Blair got married. Once they got there they took some selfies and Jerika tells us this is where the man of her dreams got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him. It was the easiest yes she’s ever said!

When Jerika went dress shopping she explained what her dream dress looked like to her bridal consultant and the woman knew the perfect gown. Jerika went ahead and picked some other gowns to try on, but when she saw the dress her consultant pulled she thought it was stunning—she immediately wanted to try it on! But before she did, Jerika wanted something to compare the gorgeous gown to, so she tried on a couple of her personal picks. Unable to wait any longer, Jerika tried on our Pura gown. The sample dress fit her like a glove, she felt like it must have been made for her. She instantly started crying and knew it was the one! Jerika has been skeptical when people insisted that she would just know when she found “the one,” but after putting the Pura dress on, she knew it was the gown she’s gett married in!

Jerika looked beautiful in our Pura gown, a slim sheath full of gorgeous and intricate details. The allover Chantilly lace dress is covered in elegant frosted, embroidered appliques from neckline to wide scalloped hemline. The sultry off-the-shoulder bodice features a plunging detail and sheer long sleeves creating an absolutely stunning look!

The couple was married at Vintage Villas in Lakeway, Texas. This villa-style hotel and event space is a gorgeous venue that sits on six acres on a bluff that overlooks the beautiful expanse of Lake Travis and the Texas Hill Country. Jerika and Taylor had their ceremony under a fairytale gazebo. This vintage-inspired structure is topped with winding wisteria and had stunning views of the lake.

Looking back now, Jerika says the most memorable part of her wedding day was being surrounded by her and Taylor’s closest family and friends. The two were married pre-covid, and Jerika tells us that it truly put into perspective who made the effort and sacrifices to be there and who really supports them. Full of love, the couple and their guests celebrated into the stunning Texas sunset!
